Suspect #4

Unknown

It was also believed that whoever did this was living with the family.

A family member of Josiah's, believed to be his sister, came to the house after the murders and looked around. She had noticed that it was a little odd that the family had an unoccupied bed in the downstairs bedroom- it had been made but never used. This is weird for any household of this time.

One theory is that the Moore family had expected another person to stay the night with them, OR there was another person staying the night with them. In the closet, in the downstairs bedroom, there were several bags of cotton batting found on the floor. It looked like there were marks where a person had either sat or stood on all of this cotton for a large period of time.

Also, in the bed where the neighbor girls were sleeping, there was a piece of a watch chain believed to have been torn by one of the girls. However, nothing came from this.

Maybe they stayed in the house after they committed the crimes and waited until they could escape.

In conclusion, no one has been convicted for the murders.
